Denotative meaning of Orí Bíbọ

When someone consults Ifá and it keeps coming up that he/she needs to do "Orí Bíbọ" (propitiation to the Inner head), the connotative meaning to this is that the particular person needs to offer the physical items to appease his inner head according to what Ifá requires. It could be a Pigeon, a Catfish, Sheep or Rooster. That is what needs to be done on a connotative level.

But the Denotative meaning of Orí Bíbọ goes further beyond this.

Before Orí Bíbọ constantly keeps coming up for someone, such person must have been in a position where he or she is putting others first to their own personal peril. The person could, for example, be going into a business deal where he/she puts in 70% of the resources but insists that the other person takes 60% of the profit and gives just 40% back to him/her.

So, the person has to be reminded that self-love is not selfishness.

It could also denote that such person has a "personal plan, target or goal" to achieve before entering into an agreement or relationship or deal with someone else or a group of people, but along the line, such person begins to let the opinions of others override his plans. It would come up that such person propitiates his Orí.

So, in essence. Orí Bíbọ is a denotative reminder to focus on you and your "why" whenever it comes up in Odù Ifá.

To Love others begins with loving yourself enough.
