Metaphysically, it is believed to bring luck & prosperity, prevent marital infidelity & soothe the mind & soul. It is also a popular stone to use during meditation and grounding.

Cleanse with sea salt water and charge under the full moon or the sun. (Less time in the sun, it can cause fading.)

History & Lore

It is said that an Amethyst will change color if the wearer is under a spell of black magic, fearfulness or deception. Wine served in goblets made of Amethyst was said to change color if the drink was poisoned or toxic. Translated in Greek, the name means “not drunk” & came from the belief that the holder or wearer of this stone would not become intoxicated. Catholic Bishops were known to wear this stone and rosaries are commonly created from it.
